Before & After Photos (Pro)
The most useful photo of a renovation is the one nobody takes: the wall open, with the cables exposed, right before it’s plastered shut. WireSketch keeps that shot, and its finished “after” twin, against the surface it belongs to, so months or years later you know exactly where the wiring runs behind the paint.
Walls, floors and ceilings
Add a floor or a ceiling to any project as its own documentation surface, alongside the walls. That’s where the runs you can never see again live: underfloor-heating loops, the feed dropped to a ceiling light, the cable chased across a slab before the screed goes down. Each surface gets its own before/after record and a note.
How it works
- Before, photograph the open surface with the cables (or pipes) exposed. Add as many shots as you need per surface: a floor has runs going in several directions.
- After, photograph the finished, plastered, painted result. Now the pair tells the whole story: what’s behind the surface, and what it looks like today.
- A note per surface, for the detail a photo can’t carry: circuit, depth, “switched live to the left”.
- Browse the whole property, every room’s before/after in one gallery from the property view, grouped by room, so you don’t hunt project by project.
Why it matters
Drilling into a wall a year later shouldn’t be a gamble. The before photo is the map: hang a shelf, add a socket, or open the floor again without guessing where the cable is. For a renovation, it’s the record that survives long after the memory of “I think a circuit runs there” has faded.
For electricians
Before you close a wall, shoot the run. It’s proof of what you installed and where: protection if a later trade puts a screw through a cable, and a fast answer when the customer calls next year asking “can I drill here?”. Hand the homeowner a clean visual record of the hidden work they paid for, and walk onto the next job knowing your own runs are documented.

Export a dedicated Before & After PDF: every documented surface, its before shots, its after shots, and the notes. It’s kept separate from the technical Renovation Brief. It’s the document you file in the house archive, or hand over at the end of the job.
